A total of forty years experience in the broadcast trade places The Video Ark squarely in the best position to recover material from obsolete video and audio tapes of all types. We run and maintain all our own machines and have extensive contacts, so we can adapt our machinery to run each recording, however unique. The recovery process is fiddly and time consuming, and so requires a great deal of patience as well as considerable skill. We have a large collection of video tape machines in a number of formats, each maintained in differing states so that the problem of tape interchange can be easily overcome. Unlike many other so-called archive companies, we are not in the business of enhancing your material. We believe in the dictionary definition of archive. Whatever is on your tape, we will reproduce it faithfully as it was recorded, warts and all. You won't find this service anywhere else. Every job is different. Tapes arrive in varying condition - even tapes that look perfect can be hellish to work with. This is no-one's fault, it is just part of the territory with old magnetic tape. For this reason, price quoting is very difficult. However, we do offer the facility for you to send us tapes for evaluation - and we will evaluate and give you a ballpark figure for their recovery. We are well known throughout the industry and have undertaken work for the BBC, London Weekend Television, Granada Television, Yorkshire Television, Border Television and many independent companies. However large or small your requirements may be - The Video Ark are the specialists in this field. |
